A few years ago, the only people who had heard of Nvidia were those purchasing their graphics processing units (GPUs). Now, the company has grown to become one of the biggest companies in the world from the increasing interest in artificial intelligence. Its CEO and co-founder, Taiwanese-American Jensen Huang, has been with the company since the very beginning.
Initially born in Tainan, Taiwan, Jensen Huang moved to the United States as a child, eventually receiving a bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering from Oregon State University and a master’s degree also in electrical engineering from Stanford University. In 1993, he co-founded Nvidia with Chris Malachowsky and Curtis Priem.

Although the company initially underwent various struggles, it ultimately found success selling graphics processing units (GPUs). However, in recent years, following a global interest in artificial intelligence technologies, Nvidia has begun to achieve massive success.
In June 2024, Nvidia’s market capitalization reached $3 trillion, with Huang’s net worth alone reaching $100 billion, making him the 11th richest person in the world. “He’s like Taylor Swift, but for tech,” billionaire Mark Zuckerberg said in an Instagram comment.

With such immense success, Jensen Huang has found himself among some of the most influential Asian-American figures of his time, inspiring millions to enter the tech landscape.
