A while ago, I tried what I now consider one of my favorite restaurants in Maryland, IZAKAYA 68. This restaurant consists of many unique aspects, making it truly a special experience for people.

First of all, I’m someone who loves Japanese food, specifically sushi and ramen. Seeing a restaurant that caters to people like me, I decided I needed to try it out.

As I entered the restaurant, the decorations made it feel like I was eating food in a restaurant in Japan. Specifically, the traditional architecture and the many banners that were hanging around the restaurant gave it a Japanese feel. Furthermore, there were also lanterns around the entire restaurant and a cherry blossom tree decoration in the middle of the restaurant. All of these additions contributed to the authentic Japanese environment.

One of the most memorable parts about this restaurant is that robots bring out the dishes instead of people. You just have to take the dishes from the robot and then click a button on its screen, telling it to return to the kitchen. While such a trend is becoming increasingly popular within Asian countries, this is something that I’ve never seen in the United States. The robots have a cat face on their screen and preset speech.

Outside of the robots, the food is outstanding, with tons of options to choose from, such as skewers, sushi, or ramen. When I went there, I tried the sashimi platter, the seafood tartar, the shoyu ramen, and the chicken breast skewer. The fish in the sashimi platter and the seafood tartar were some of the best and most fresh I’ve tried. Overall, the food was delicious, and I would recommend it to anyone, especially for the price, which I considered to be relatively low for the quality of the food.
