I love keeping a stash of snacks so that I can eat whenever I feel hungry. I think such a habit is likely common among many other people, too. A large portion of the snacks I keep are from different Asian countries, whether that be instant ramen, sodas, or crackers. Here are some of the snacks that I would recommend you to try if you haven’t already!

Starting with solid foods, one of the classics is shrimp crackers, most notably the ones made by Nongshim. This snack has a crunchy feel when biting down on it. Outside of the sensation, the savory taste is also distinctive from other snacks that you might find in Western countries. These crackers are a great option when you just want to eat a little bit to make sure that you aren’t hungry when you’re working late at night! (Photo from NikanKitchen)
Want Want’s Rice Cracker is another great option if you just want to eat a little bit so you don’t feel too hungry. Although this snack has a similar chewing feel as the shrimp crackers, these crackers are actually sweet. Another great upside is the low price of these crackers. I find that you can find bagfuls of them in a lot of Asian Markets, such as H-Mart, and even online, for only a few dollars. (Photo from Amazon)

While this may be rather broad, I love to have some instant ramen as a snack when I’m feeling hungry but don’t have the time to cook. Brands such as Nongshim, Kang Shi Fu, and Nissin Demae Ramen have been some of my favorites over the past few years. Instant ramen also has a wide array of flavors, giving customers a good selection of different flavors to diversify the tastes they are getting. (Photo from Weee!)
Outside of just food, there are a vast amount of unique beverages to choose try. One of my favorites is Lotte’s Sac Sac, which comes in either grape of orange flavor. The drink is a juice with pulp from either grapes or oranges, giving it more texture while being a tasty sweet drink for the occasion.

Recently, Chi Forest’s sparkling drinks have become insanely popular in China. The beverage comes in many different flavors, ranging from white peach to my personal favorite, lychee fizzy. While it may be a little hard to find here in the United States, it should be available in local Asian supermarkets or even Amazon. I would recommend you give it a try! (Photo from Coco Island Mart)
Finally, Yakult’s probiotic drink is a must-try in terms of Asian beverages. It is packaged in small bottles that consist of a just enough of the probiotic beverage. The drink is sweet and refreshing, giving you a boost of energy. Like many of the other items on this list, the probiotic drink can likely be found in Asian supermarkets, online, and maybe even some American stores! (Photo from Raley’s)
