As many of you might have seen in the news already, Israeli-American Hersh Goldberg-Polin, who was taken hostage by Hamas on October 7, 2023, was recently found dead on Saturday, August 31, 2024.
After he was abducted while attending the Re’im music festival, his parents, Rachel Goldberg and Jon Polin, spoke out, advocating for the release of the hostages. Some of the activities they have engaged in include speaking to political authorities and media organizations, giving speeches, and calling for the Israeli government to negotiate a deal to bring the hostages home.
“Hersh, if you can hear us, we love you,” Hersh’s mother Rachel Goldberg said during her speech Democratic National Convention. “Stay strong. Survive.”
Hersh’s death is one of six hostages who were recently killed by Hamas. People across the United States mourn his and other hostages’ deaths, continuing to fight for the release of those still in captivity.
